It is important to have a positive digital footprint on the internet because when there are lots of people applying for a job the employer may search your name on the internet and find your myspace, blog, facebook etc. and if you have pictures of you doing inappropriate things or have been using inappropriate language in your status updates then it is unlikely that you will get the job. But if you have a positive digital footprint rather than a negative one then it is more likely that you will get the job because you’re employer can find out a lot about you.
We just played the simulation game ‘Stop Disasters’ A simulation game is a game where you get to experience life and situations how someone else does. A well known simulation game is ‘The Sims’. In ‘Stop Disasters’ you had to pick a disaster such as flood, fire, tsunami etc and a game difficulty. The higher the game difficulty, the more land and people you have to save. We had 20-25 minutes to do all we could to save the people from the disaster we chose while sticking to our budget. We picked ‘Tsunami’ and built a hospital, a school, hotels and strong houses away from the sea. We put up emergency signs, built radio systems and evacuation plans. Not everyone in the village had a house so that was one of the top priorities. We upgraded houses and other building to make them stronger so they would be more likely to survive the tsunami. Break waters helped protect the community.
We had a heap of fun protecting the South East Asian community from a tsunami. While the tsunami was about to hit we had a count down
We ended up saving everyone and getting a gold medal but sadly not a top score. I would recommend playing this game.
Pittwater scouts and venturers are UBA. We are a part of the Clarence district. We are a million times more skilled than Lindisfarne (obviously)
Yoda was our scout mascot but sadly he was brutally murdered by a pack of cubs and a pile of evil, annoying joeys. Yoda was an awesome blob of blue tack *moment of silence for Yoda* Moving on… Beryl is the Venturer mascot. He is a stuffed toy octopus who used to belong to Shannon. Until recently he was tied to the roof of the Scout Hall.
We came second to Sandford at the Clark Trophy last year (we beat Lindisfarne, which is awesome). We ate CHEESY BITS at district camp this year. Lozza bought broccoli, potato and carrot, Emily bought continental macaroni cheese and I bought chicken. So we cooked it altogether in a pot and created…CHEESY BITS with crackle (“the crackle…it’s good” *holds up hand*) This is all so very exciting.
Last week at Vents (Venturers) we went bowling. I bet Stephen. But both of my shoes were different sizes though which was weird (trust that to happen to me). We ate lollies and put them down Jack’s back (we couldn’t put them down Clackers’ because his shirt was too tight).
We are going to ‘bomb’ Lindisfarne xD
